Henry Fiat's Open Sore - Mondo Blotto

This one goes out to Magnum.
I drove about an hour and a half to see HFOS last year, but when I arrived I found out the show was cancelled.
Anyway this is some good crazy punk garage music from Stockholm, in the veins of The Hives.
They have now split into two bands, HFOS and Friends Of Dorothy.

Scurvy Dogs - It's all gonna end

Scurvy Dogs were a punk hardcore band from the Bay Area, active between 1999 and 2006.
This is their only full lenght, recorded by Bart Thurber in 2003.
13 songs, great shit, with nice bass parts.
These guys play now in Abrupt (everyone except the singer) and in Fix My Head (the singer).

Look Back And Laugh - State of illusion

LBAL was an awesome Oakland hardcore band with harsh female vocals. This one-sided clear vinyl was released in 2007, I think it's their last release.
Four songs in four minutes.

Light Up! - Fields of deafness

Hardcore from Milan.
This cd was recorded live in studio in one day.
Fast hardcore with some midtempos.
Sometime it's too NYC-styled for me, but the guys are good. Keith Morris quote!

Shock Troopers - Blades and rods

Another great act from Palemmo, featuring mythical Piparino on drums.
What they do is that kind of music known back in the days as "crossover", aka old school thrash (Nuclear Assault, D.R.I...you know, the good one).
This is their second full-lenght; any kind of stuff is available from their MySpace page.

Deep Wound - S/t 7"

DW's 1983 self-titled 7", released after their first-ever demo cassette.
Set up in Westfield, MA this short-lived hardcore band had J Mascis on drums and Lou Barlow on guitar, who later went on to form seminal rock band Dinosaur Jr.
It's very fast hardcore punk with downtempos, made by excellent adolescent musicians.
